What is your background/story?

As well as Yoga, Chris also has a strong background in Sports Science, Martial Arts, Athletics, Bio-mechanics, and Meditation. Over the years he has completed a variety of certified yoga teacher training courses with different schools from around the world. He has been teaching for 18 years and has taught workshops and retreats worldwide. Chris is a popular and much sought-after teacher on the London yoga scene!

What is your proudest achievement?

Voted one of London's top 10 yoga teachers of 2017! (about time magazine) and being invited to teach a yoga class for the bride and groom and their family on the morning of their wedding day.

Mr. VYBZ (Yoga Vybz)

What’s your favourite / least favourite exercise?

Yoga is about creating balance in both mind and body. So, I'm mindful not to love or hate any exercise and each exercise can feel different on each day. For me, it's about balance.

What aspect of training do you pride yourself on / bring to your classes?

Chris's teaching style is fun, flowing and dynamic with elements of dance, martial arts and power yoga with a great playlist of beats to maintain the pace of the class. He places the focus on the clients to empower them to develop and transform, enabling them to fully experience the dynamic and energetic flow of the inner and outer workings of yoga.

When are your classes?

My classes at BXR are every Wednesday evening from 8.15pm - 9.10pm

What’s your music style in class?

During my classes, I play a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and some instrumental relaxing mixes. (Some people are surprised to hear Drake playing in a yoga class).

What’s your favourite workout song?

My current fav track is Loyalty by Kendrick Lamar and Rhianna.

What’s your naughty cheat meal?

Fresh raspberries with dark chocolate dipped in Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate spread.

Where can we find you at the weekend?

Teaching private clients around London or sleeping.

One thing you can’t live without?

I wouldn't want to live a life without LOVE. Love is everything!

2 things people don’t know about you?

Two things people don't know about me are that I have 6 older sisters and I got into the fitness industry because I admired the old school Olympian bodybuilders like Lee Haney, Sergio Oliva, and Arnie.

Come and train with me because...

I have a true passion for teaching movement of all kinds. If you are new to the practice of yoga, maybe you have preconceptions about what to expect. So, try a class with an open mind. My style of teaching is fun but equally challenging. So, if you think 'YOGA' is not for you because you are not flexible that's not true. It's a bit like saying you cannot do weight training because you are not strong enough ... You are 'enough' to give anything a try - you just need the motivation to get started. So, give my class a try ... you may just love it!
